Greg: Don't put all the blame on the Radeon 8500. Have you checked at XLR8YourMac <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/> for any insights? Many users w/Sawtooths are reporting no problems. I have a G4 /450 AGP Sawtooth (upgraded w/OWC 1.3Ghz CPU), Pioneer DVR-105, 10.4.1, DVD player 4.5, and Radeon 8500, and DVDs play just fine. Some possible differences between your system & mine: 1) I have NEVER applied an ATI firmware update to my Radeon 8500 (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). It's still at ROM revision 113-85710-123 as I bought it 3 years ago.. 2) I have NOT updated to DVD Player 4.6 3) DVR-105 vs DVR-109 Sean > > On Jun 7, 2005, at 9:19 AM, Daniel Brieck Jr. wrote: >> >>> Does anyone else have this problem with DVD movies not playing >>> properly with the Apple DVD player? >>> >>> I have a G4 500 AGP Sawtooth system, a pioneer DVR-109, ATI >>> Radeon 8500 and Mac os 10.4.1 with the Apple DVD player update as >>> well.
