[G4] Why Upgrade Video Card?

I switched from a ATI Radeon 8500 Mac Edition to an ATI Radeon 9000 
Mac edition to cut fan noise (no fan) and to marginally speed up the 
G-Force Pro Visulizer when I am playing iTunes for extended periods. 
It cured the jerky action.
