[G4] Pioneer 109 Purchase advice needed

Sure, but would it fit in the second bay?  In most boxes, that is for a Zip drive, and an optical (CD, DVD) drive won't fit.  I use an external FireWire enclosure for a second optical drive, but it is of course not recognized by most Apple software as a burner.
