This just keeps getting worse. I thought my new Pioneer DVR-109 was defective because it wouldn't display a DVD in OSX10.4.1's DVD player. After reinstalling my old drive, I tried to play a DVD in OSX and I got the same results as with the 109. Sound was OK but picture was pixsellated like bad TV reception of Digital Video. So I went to OS9.2.2 and the player their worked fine (other than crashing when I tried to exit the player. So, before I use this RMA to return the Pioneer 109 to Newegg I thought I should be fair and try the 109 in OS9.2.2. To make a long story short (its already ridiculous enough going off half-cocked so to speak), the 109 worked fine in the OS9.2.2 player (and also locked up the computer when trying to exit the player. Its all a case of too much too soon. I just installed the OSX10.4.1 last week, installed a Photoshop CS2 upgrade and then tried to get this DVR-109 installed today! Now I must call Newegg and not use their gracious RMA replacement offer and also call Pioneer for a nasty email I pounded out much to quickly. Ouch! So beware all! Do not make too many changes too quickly or you may have to eat some crow! Now how do I report this fiasco to Apple and their new OSX10.4.1? Chow!
