Note that most converters work in the opposite direction from what
you need. If the price is around $20 it's probably not what you want.
I found what you need at http://www.cooldrives.com/samibrcosadr.html.
But, for the price (~$30) you'd probably be just a well off buying a
new drive. A local store recently had 120GB drives for $20 after a
rebate.
SATA PCI controller cards go for around $60-$70. (About twice what
the same card for a PC costs!) MacSense has a card that does both
SATA and ATA: http://www.macsense.com/product/sua-100_b.html, but a
brief google search didn't find anyone selling it.
As to the response concerning performance I couldn't find anything on
the net that would indicate that you'd be able to notice the
difference between using the SATA drive on a native controller or an
adaptor.
