Back in the classic world it was possible to have a Finder window off in the netherland of the gworld - the -32768 to +32767 pixel square in two dimensions only a tiny part of which is really on a monitor and visible. Finder didn't allow you to drag a window there but it was possible, for instance, if you turned off a monitor while there was a window on it. Or if you used some AppleScript command to move a window. You might have a close look at the tiny "exposed" picture to see if something like a small off-screen window is present.
