[G4] Web authoring programs

I was in the same position a couple months back.  I'm  a programmer, but not
a graphics designer (I do .html in Web Weaver..a freeware program, that's
more like a low-level text editor.  I'm literally doing individual HTML
lines by hand.  See my website http://www.comet-track.com/indexc.html).

I got Dreamweaver (educational version), but haven't got around to playing
with it.  I considered GoLive, but people told me to go with Dreamweaver.
Me..I initially need a user-friendly web design program, to get my feet
wet.  Then, a Dreamweaver later is the way to progress.

I wanna do something like that.  Can someone tell me a program which can do
this fairly easily? (it was done on Dreamweaver, but I hear it has a steep
learning curve.  Can Freeway do this?)  The people who did that page wanted
to charge me $3K to do mine!! (I ended up paying a guy $500 to do my little
project, whose website is http://www.jumplive.com..it was a kinda a rush job
done over the weekend).

I'm a photographer & videographer on the side, so I can generate a lot of
visual content.  My Photoshop skills (little as they may be), would be
useful for webdesign.  So, I think I'm on the verge of becoming a fairly
decent web designer.  I just need some Practice & Learning Curve.

Any other recommendations or tips, I'd appreciate it.  I just signed up with
.Mac, so I can get an archive of images up to a website easily.
