I use both Dreamweaver and Golive together. I prefer GoLive over DW but find myself opening some pages in DW to do certain things I haven't learned how to do in GL yet. DW is considered the industry standard, but I prefer GL because I'm more familiar with the Adobe interface. -----Original Message----- From: B Yen <byen00 at earthlink.net> Sent: Mar 24, 2005 6:10 AM To: "A place to discuss Apple's G4 computers." <g4 at listserver.themacintoshguy.com> Subject: Re: [G4] Web authoring programs I was in the same position a couple months back. I'm a programmer, but not a graphics designer (I do .html in Web Weaver..a freeware program, that's more like a low-level text editor. I'm literally doing individual HTML lines by hand. See my website http://www.comet-track.com/indexc.html). I got Dreamweaver (educational version), but haven't got around to playing with it. I considered GoLive, but people told me to go with Dreamweaver. Me..I initially need a user-friendly web design program, to get my feet wet. Then, a Dreamweaver later is the way to progress. I like this opening page: http://www.bajabros.com I wanna do something like that. Can someone tell me a program which can do this fairly easily? (it was done on Dreamweaver, but I hear it has a steep learning curve. Can Freeway do this?) The people who did that page wanted to charge me $3K to do mine!! (I ended up paying a guy $500 to do my little project, whose website is http://www.jumplive.com..it was a kinda a rush job done over the weekend). I'm a photographer & videographer on the side, so I can generate a lot of visual content. My Photoshop skills (little as they may be), would be useful for webdesign. So, I think I'm on the verge of becoming a fairly decent web designer. I just need some Practice & Learning Curve. Any other recommendations or tips, I'd appreciate it. I just signed up with .Mac, so I can get an archive of images up to a website easily. B Yen Roger Harris wrote: > GoLive is easier to learn than Dreamweaver and is almost as > comprehensive.
