The series is fine, but IMHO they're not for the beginner. For 
instance, Joe Kissell warns, "In reading this ebook, you may get stuck 
if you don’t know certain basic facts about Mac OS X [...]". I'd say 
they're for the intermediate and advanced beginner level.
