After reading the good comments about Applejack, I decided to give it a test drive. It worked but reminded me of running an old DOS program. I did restart holding down the Command and s keys. I then entered 'applejack auto restart' per the docs and it did it thing for several minutes and restarted the Mac G4-1GHz-AGP with OSX 10.4.3. The restart after running Applejack seemed to take forever but everything worked. I would like to know what Applejack does that cannot be done by running the MacJanitor.app and then using the Apple Disk Utility.app to Repair Disk Permissions? Dick
