Rick, The mac mini is the more obvious choice, it is a newer and faster design than the G4 Cube. With the Mac mini you will get a 1.25 or 1.42 GHZ G4, faster memory, usb 2.0, faster graphics card . The cube is only topping out at 500 Mhz. And the g4 cubes computers are not much cheaper than the brand new mini... A 5 year old used machine is more likely to cause trouble than a new one in most cases. While there are upgrades for CPU, and Graphics for the cubes, adding them can be expensive. Also heat is a concern with adding faster parts than what the product was designed for. The cube has some issues with it if i recall. There were problems with over sensitive power buttons just randomly turning the computer off. Heat can be a problem with any of computer if ventilation is blocked. With the cube and the mini extra caution has to be taken not to block the limited air intakes and exhaust ports. The Cube has no fans so it has to have open vents and be positioned standing upright. The Mac mini can be set on its side. Daniel J.
