Hello Rick, Are you looking for recommendations for a new or used PB? I'm not too familiar with the new ones, as my older one just won't give me a reason to upgrade. I have one of the earlier G4 Ti 15" Powerbooks--667 mhz, 512 RAM. Came with OSX 10.1 and 9.2. I have since upgraded to Panther, and rarely use OS9, but it's nice to know it's there to run my old apps when one is needed. The PB has served me very well. Right now it's my portable machine, and my backup for when my desktop isn't feeling well. It also works well to sit in the corner and chomp on big video files when I have too many things going on on the other machine. This was also my main desktop machine for several years--getting heavy use about 12 hours per day, every day. It shipped with an Airport card, which I never had the need for until just last summer. It was like finding a present I forgot to open. It works great--no issues. I have also been able to hook up to a Palm Pilot, a Magellan GPS and various cell phones with a Keyspan USB Serial adapter with great success. Kind of a clunky setup with all the wires and all, and I suspect that the way to go these days may be a Bluetooth-enabled phone and a card/adapter in the PB. And yes, it is durable. It survived (among other things) the Great Beer Spill of New Year's Y2K, and at least one memorable fall from about 4 feet onto carpet-covered cement. The drop only resulted in a small buckle in the metal skin. If I have any issues, it's how loud it is when the fan kicks in, but in my eyes, that's a small price to pay for such a trusty machine. Hope this gives you something you can use...
