Although they go bad some times, the cause can be internal. Before doing anything else check with a voltmeter if the charger is sending the appropriate voltage. (If you can't do that, Im sure you can have it done in a Radio Shack store). The voltage its posted in the back of the charger and it can vary a few volts with no problem, if its too low, then you have found the cause cheaply.
