[G4] QuickSilver; cable select or master/slave?

The user guide for my old Sawtooth said use master/slave jumper  
settings for internal hard drives.
The user guide for my QuickSilver says use cable select. That's what  
I am using and it seems to be fine. But I still see references to  
master/slave on QuickSilvers and later G4s.
What's best or does it matter at all? Thanks.
