Thank you for the link Tony. I will try Syringe sometime today and let 
you know how it goes. I don't believe she can afford to have her system 
reinstalled right now.

I can't believe a company would alter a BootX file without permission 
from the owner of the computer. All they have  suceeded in doing is 
convincing her to never take her computer there for service.

re resexcellence . . . could not find the version discussed in their 
instructions. The version I did download did not work/produce results 
equal to their instruction.
