[G4] Where o where to put my aging OS 9 & how much space does she need?

No way. Maybe the other way (Assuming you are talking partitions. I  
don't do partitions)
But it will install right along with your OSX.
It really isn't a problem. I have run my G4 Quicksilver through every  
revision of OSX and it still boots to 9.2 if I want it to.
