[G4] iMac Optical Drive replacement

I'm looking into replacing an Optical drive for a friend's iMac (the 
G4 articulated model).
Not sure if the drive is the same model that would go into a normal 
desktop and would appreciate some leads. OWC lists the iMac G4 along 
with other desktops on its replacement Optical drive page implying 
that it would take the same drive.

Also am unfamiliar with the iMac when it comes to opening and 
replacing. Any instructionals out there?
