[G4] AGP hard drive question

Purely personal preference as to whether to SCSI or not. If you opt
to hook up an IDE (ATA) drive to the connector on the mobo, or/and a
SCSI drive to the PCI card, you should not notice any difference in
operation. There may be some minor differences in I/O speed between
the two, but I don't know that you'd notice.

I went from ATA to SATA a few months ago and I like it (no master/
slave mumbo-jumbo). Now thinking of adding a couple of SATA II drives
internally as well.

If it were me, I'd go SATA II all the way. It's not fully developed
(as I understand it), but it is the leading edge, or nearer to
leading edge than either SCSI or ATA at this time. Why go backwards?
