Michael,

	Not to be one who jumps to this as a first resort but seems like you  
have done everything that is doable short of a reload of the OS.  I  
have done an archive and install 2 times in my OSX life and it fixed  
whatever goofy problem I had that the AS genius and AppleCare could  
not correct.  It was not difficult and only took an hour at the  
most.  Just a thought that you might be out of other options and as  
long as you have your critical files backed up you should not be out  
more then that if it doesn't work.
