Still doing battle with the beast. I was able to install Ubuntu Linux, which lets it see all the drives so I know there it nothing wrong with the primary controller (Whew) I called Apple and the bozo on the phone walked me through all kinds of gyrations finally settling on I have to install 9.2 and update my firmware. Unfortunately, I cant boot with either of the os9 disks nor can I find the firmware he was talking about. He did try to sell me Tiger though.. As if I need yet another set of variables to this puzzle. It is apparent that the disks I have are not for the unit I am trying to resuscitate. If yours are the right ones, that would warp drive me right back into the game. In the meantime, I am learning a bit about Linux. Pretty darned neat except I don¹t know how to make anything work other than what it automatically set up. Trying to install anything like Realplayer or a DVD play is clearly beyond my present skill set. Rich > > Rich, > Did you ever solve your G-4 Issue?
