Hi Tony, Try unplugging your USB connector and then plugging it back in. Works for me when my mice occaisionally freeze - both corded and cordless - go figure. jon Original Message: ----------------- From: Tony Johansen tjoh7019 at bigpond.net.au Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2006 12:54:59 +1100 To: g4 at listserver.themacintoshguy.com Subject: [G4] Cursor Freezing My cursor has frozen 3 times in 2 days. First cursor freezes in 2 years. Force quiting makes no difference. Can only get out of it by shutting the machine down via the exterior button which I know can't be good for things. Seems to be no pattern as to what is on the desktop at the time (although it does have a lot of files stored on the desk top, but no more than usual for last few weeks) other than Safari being open each time (and the last time it was the only program open other than Finder itself. I ran repair permissions from DiskUtility for the OS X partition. (although I never know what I should do for maintenance with the OS 9 partition. However I never go into OS 9 and only have my iTunes library stored there. How do I go about trouble shooting this issue and can Safari itself be the cause? Can Finder develop this problem? What are the other possibilities? How can I go about dealing with this issue? Thanks in advance for any help.
