This is not correct. The difference in performance between ATA/66 and ATA/133 is quite small, even for hard drives. Also ATA/66 (and ATA/ 33) requires 80 wire cables and Macs have shipped with such cables since at least the B&W models. As I've stated in the past the biggest performance gap is between ATA/33 and newer interfaces.
