[G4] should I install OS X on G$ (400MHz)?

Frank:  Greetings!

All of the Sys X versions (Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, etc.) work very  
will on your G4/400.

I would add some RAM if you have less than 512MB.  Ideally, 1 GB is  
nice -- it's not that expensive and very easy to install (unlike some  
other machines -- iMacs, for example.)  Be sure you get quality RAM  
-- Crucial, for example.  Crucial is the retail arm of Micron  
Technology, where Apple buys some of its RAM.
