It is possible that your card is starting to fail.

Have you tried using a different video card with your two monitors?  
Have you tried other monitors? Have you tried just one monitor at a  
time?

Your statement tells me that it is not a case of the screen/power  
saver blacking out your monitor, and a bad card is my only other  
suggestion without knowing more about your diagnostic efforts.
