I remember setting up a Ram Disk - I had a bran spankin new Apple //GS it 
came with 256 K & I got the extra 256 K (only $200.00 extra) so I had a 
woppin 512 K memory, four disk drives, set up the RAM Disk drop your program 
into it and watch that puppy fly. Didn't have a hard drive for quite a while 
, finally got a Vulcan 20 meg hard drive. I didn't know what I'd ever do 
with so much space.
