[G4] ready to go

Thank you all for your help on getting the info on my G4. I have purchased a Sonnet Tempo 2-port serial ATA card and two 500 GB Seagate hard drives. I believe I am capable of inserting the card and connecting the two drives. However, my question is: what happens to the hard drive already in the computer? Will it connect automatically with the new setup or will it just sit there acting stupid (like me). My LaCie external hard drive, which has all my data backed up, is currently disconnected. I am assuming that, when I reconnect it, it will be recognized and I can just copy all the data to the new hard drives. Thanks.
