I have purchased a Sonnet Tempo 2-port serial ATA card and two 500 GB Seagate hard drives. I believe I am capable of inserting the card and connecting the two drives. However, my question is: what happens to the hard drive already in the computer? Will it connect automatically with the new setup or will it just sit there acting stupid (like me). My LaCie external hard drive, which has all my data backed up, is currently disconnected. I am assuming that, when I reconnect it, it will be recognized and I can just copy all the data to the new hard drives. Thanks. Jim Scarborough Kirk _______________________________________________ Jim, are you adding the Sonnet Tempo to your platform or are you replacing the ATA hard disk PCI card? If your adding the Sonnet, everything else should work just like it does now, however if you are replacing the ATA interface card, then your existing internal drive will NOT (correction) function. Your external LaCie drive should work as long as it doesn't connect to your G4 platform through the ATA card. ---------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ G4 mailing list G4 at listserver.themacintoshguy.com http://listserver.themacintoshguy.com/mailman/listinfo/g4
