Shawn, Did you try uninstalling Leopard? When I upgrade the OS, I generally do the install on a spare partition, or take the opportunity to install a new, larger internal drive. That let's me archive the old OS in place, and to easily boot back into the old, stable configuration if something goes wrong or is buggy. And I back up everything onto DVD's before doing the install, just for fun. I have the same Sawtooth and have been considering the upgrade, so this is worrisome. Are you running Leopard now? Hey! I have had something like that happen to me. Directly after I installed Leopard (upgrade install) on my G4 Sawtooth AGP, the gray screen came up for around nine seconds and then...zapp! The drive had to be wiped clean in the end. I arranged the components in all sorts of configurations, took out questionable RAM, swapped monitors(ADC)....everything. I couldn't boot from the D drive which made things worse. Disk Utility via laptop helped out with that. I hope that you get your answer.
