You can go directly to Tiger (or Leopard, if you don't have $$-it's supposed to ship in Spring 07). I'm running the same machine and Tiger's much faster/better than Jaguar or Panther. BTW, I suggest getting an external FWHD, using something like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, etc., and making a bootable clone of your Jaguar and OS 9 installations, so that when you upgrade and run into any problems, you can revert back to your current setup.
