That might fix your > drawer opening problem. I don't think 9.2.2 will help. I think this is a physical thing. I think that the DVD-109 drive is not designed to use the eject button on the computer case. I think you are required to use the keyboard or an eject icon. Since I recently swapped the optical drive in my Sawtooth for a Pioneer DVR-109, I decided to test it with OS 9.2.2. I booted my Sawtooth into OS 9.2.2 to see if I could get the drive open using the keyboard. Quick answer: It depends. Using a newer keyboard, the one that came with the MDD and had an eject key, I was able to open the drive tray. Using the original keyboard with no eject key, I could not get the tray open. F12 did not work with OS 9.2.2. Once OS X is installed and any burning software updated, there should be no need to use an optical drive with OS 9. I think the thing to do is: 1) try holding the mouse down on startup to get the tray open, 2) insert the OS X install disk and restart holding down the C and install X. Hopefully, it automatically ejects the discs when it wants the next install disc 3) Add the eject icon to the menu bar http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75466 Carol
