[G4] Router problem?

Hi folks,

I has 2 macs, a Sawtooth and a MDD, both running OS 10.3.9.

Until recently, both accessed the internet through DSL and a router.
Just last week I started having trouble getting access on each computer.

After resetting all the cables with no change I removed the router from
the system. Naturally, only one computer could access the internet, but
I did get access.

I would assume that this means that the problem is not in the DSL modem
or in the cable going out of said modem.

It would seem that the problem could be in the router itself, or in the
cables that go from the router to the computers.

The router I have is an EtherFast Cable/DSL Firewall Router 4-port
Switch /VPN Endpoint.

Does anyone have one hooked to DSL? Should the Wan lights be on when
the computers are off? when the computers on?

I seem to recall that the WAN lights should be on when the computers are
on. What would it mean if the lights are not on?
Would a problem in one of the cables from the router to the computer
affect the other computer?

Carol
