[G4] No firewire

 Hi everyone,  I  have had Macs for years,  these are the trusty little 
workhorse. DVD iMac and the fabulous G4 SAWTOOTH which has had so many upgrades 
and attachments that I've lost track. They have both worked very well but,  
out of the blue they will not recognize my fire wire connected burner,  
camcorder,  exterior hard drive etc. I've done Google to death,   no useful 
answers to date., Help please .
