You don't say what app's windows you are moving between. So you haven't helped us very much in helping you. If it is a true freeze of the operating system and not just the mouse becoming inoperative, you might check the preferences folder for corruption, especially the apps you have open at the time of the freeze. Suspect anything you have installed since the computer last acted like it should, because it is most likely acting inappropriately in response to some change you have made to the operating system and/or its environs. By all means, verify your boot drive to be sure your OS is healthy. I recently had what appeared to be a computer freeze, but when I connected another mouse, I could once again move the cursor. That's when I figured I needed to change the batteries in the wireless mouse I was using. It was not a computer freeze at all. You don't tell us enough to preclude that as your problem.
