If Tom the Technophobe doesn't mind my clarification, the term "once removed", like other English words and phrases, sometimes has more then one meaning! In this case, "once removed" means when you move one place away from the principal subject, in either direction. G4 to G5, for instance, or G4 to G3. "Twice Removed," would of course be moving up or down two places, as in the example given above... Thanks for asking. keith whaley
