[G4] G4 MDD won't wake up

I have seen that the primary cause of this problem is having a device  
plugged into one of your USB sockets that is not allowing the sleep  
function to operate properly. Try removing all your USB devices,  
plugging them back in one at a time and testing the sleep function  
completely before plugging in the next device.

At the least, you will find out which device is the cause and can  
then investigate further to determine whether you can resolve the  
problem with possibly a new bit of software for that device.
