[G4] upgrade or buy new mac?

If you mean when scrolling down a window the screen
does not seem to scroll smoothly, then I think that's
a function of the video card not the mouse. To scroll
the video has to keep re-writing the screen. Either
this needs a better video card, or maybe you have the
wrong drivers installed?

I remember this sort of thing from vintage macs where
a 3rd party video card might not seem to scroll well
until the correct extension was installed.

I believe this function is handled by by Quartz. A
Quartz Extreme capable video card should help on
Tiger.

I have a modest GeForce2 MX video card which is a
flashed PC eBay card. While it does support Quartz
Extreme it does not do Core Image, but works for me
for everyday use.
