    Since this thread is still going,  just one more comment on pushing 
the power supply limits.  The more wattage/amperage you draw from a power 
supply, even keeping under the "rating",  I think the bigger the "spikes" 
of electricity that all of the components get, and the more heat 
generated overall on a constant daily basis.  Many if not most failures 
are caused by heat....So by pushing the limits of a power supply, you may 
very well be taking life expectency  from the MB and all the other 
peripherals...I am old school so there may be better filters and 
heatsinks nowadays but in this world of built in obsolecence, I rather 
doubt they would be used.  And I would rather error on the positive side 
and keep down the surges and heat, always trying to stay way under the 
rated amps/wattages.
