Let's review the basics - we add an "s" to most noun phrases to mark them as plural and we add apostrophe-s ('s) to a noun phrase to denote ownership. One exception to this, however, is "its" and "it's." "It's" is a contraction of "it is," while "its" represents ownership. Because pronouns have separate forms for the plural (really just one: they), there will be no confusion of the meaning of "its." So for the sake of my sanity, please stop copying the typographical/orthographical errors of others. Rise above it!
