Hi, I have a mirror dual800 running 10.3.9. My hp2200laserjet printer which is connected via USB just quit printing in classic mode. It seems to still be fine printing on 10.3.9. When I try to print from any classic application, I get a message telling me appletalk is not active in one form or another. I didn't think I needed appletalk with USB. But I tried to choose turn on appletalk in the network settings and it looks like its chosen but still I get the message "appletalk cannot be turned on". It was working well for over a month until this morning...and I am out of gas in my google searches and using this tired old hunk of gray matter. Extensions show the hp USB checked and I also checked the USB Printer extension although I'm pretty sure this was tirned off because its for printer sharing.... I started up on many different partitions and get the same results...and I've thrown away printing prefs from classic. Couple of questions...Do I need appletalk with USB connections to the printer? Any reason appletalk cannot be activated....at one point there was a popup saying the modem was using appletalk but I know I haven't changed anything in months as far as settings go, and I haven't installed anything new recently. thanks.
