My Mac G4 Dual 450 mHz ("gigabit ethernet" I guess) had it's power supply die (again). I put an add on Craigslist that I was looking for an old G4 or power supply, so I could replace the power supply. I bought a G4 Quicksilver machine with an 800 mHz processor. I saw that the power supply was not exactly the same, so I instead swapped out the hard drives. I got this system up and running now, but my question is, have I upgraded to a newer machine, or have I downgraded to a single processor? Already I have noticed that there is one fewer slot for RAM. I had one gig in my old machine. This new one is not recognizing one of my ram cards and only shows 512 megs of ram. thanks.
