Dave, I'd look on <lowendmac.com> and/or <xlr8yourmac.com> for specific, but I'm 99% sure Bruce is correct that if your G4 is a dual processor box with FW800 (squarish FW connector) it won't boot into OS9 at all. Interestingly, the last G4 Apple sold was a single 1.25 GHz box that would boot into OS9. It was introduced about the same time as the first G5s.
