Hi Gang! Remember when I had a monitor that would not wake up after it had been put to sleep along with the CPU? Here is the cause. It is endemic with OS 10.4.11 and the G4. Some bad data gets stored. THE SOLUTION: 1) Press the power button to shutdown. 2) Unplug Mac and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. 3)Hold down power key for 30 seconds. 4) Let Mac restart. 5) AS the Mac restarts quickly hold down Command, Option, and P and R keys let the Mac bong at least 4 times. Let the Mac restart and the problem is solved. Yes folks, I am happy that I was not the cause of this problem and that the G4 and the monitor were not damaged.
