[G4] Leopard on a Digital Audio

Greetings!

I have a friend who MUST have Leopard on his PowerMac G4 (DA) 466mhz.   to 
accomplish this, I "ran around the installer" by upgrading his disk using a 
Powerbook Aluminum 1.5ghz via firewire.   The install took of course... 
but....

The problem I am running into is this:   When trying to boot up from the 
Leopard HD, I get to the Apple/Pinwheel startup screen, then the machine.. 
SHUTS OFF!

I can boot up from Leopard via my aforementioned PBook G4 just fine.   What 
gives??
