>If the new G4's video output was set to a resolution or frequency that the Samsung would not support, this would result in the behavior that you've seen. Click on the Apple symbol/System Preferences/Displays, and try "Detect Displays". Or, try reducing the Refresh Rate to 60 Hz; that should work with about any display. Let us know if this fixes it.

I talked to Samsung today and they said that there was nothing to do about the monitor problems. I was told by Karen at tech support that it is not compatible with the G4. I was going to buy a Samsung LCD 24" monitor that is supposed to be compatible with the G4 but Karen at Samsung told me that the 24" monitor has problems too with various configurations of System and software. Karen said that the Apple LCD 22" monitor is wonderful and advised me not to buy the 24" Samsung LCD. She has one and has no problems at all with the Apple 22" LCD. She said that the Samsung monitor that she had, the 24" ,did not work on her Mac G4 either.

Please accept my apologies for the nutty signature info that I have been using. I did not realize that it included all of the formatting info!!! I really like the Hendrix quote but I cannot get Eudora 6.1.1 to do it correctly. If you know how to make it work tell me. Otherwise you will never see that mess again I promise.

Finally if you have problems with Adobe software or plan to buy it...see this site http://www.consumeraffairs.com/computers/adobe.html it is illuminating.
