[G4] Microphone input for G4 MDD

Generally speaking the mic jacks on Macs are for cosmetic purposes only. 
You can't plug your average headset mic into them and use them, they 
need a pre-amp or something.

The easiest remedy seems to be using a USB jack such as the Griffin 
iMic, I use one and I am very happy with it. Last time I looked I think 
they were about $20 here in the US.
