Kristen, I upgraded my G4 with a SATA card, SATA drives, and a SSD. It ran much faster but had to trial and error 3 different cards before it worked... took 2 months with back and forth shipping. And I think the extra heat took a toll on the power supply. Never ran quite right. Ended up getting a used G5 for $299, moved all the hardware across, and everything ran great. I think the Sonett card that's bootable works best in the G4, but for not much more money you can get a used G5, put the SSD in that and be better off. That's my experience. Message-ID: <4E74F184.2050600 at ntlworld.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Hi Kristen I was fortunate to pick up a second-hand Sonnet Tempo SATA X4i on eBay at a very good price. I have hooked up 2 x 250Gb drives in a striped RAID. Two drives working like one, being roughly twice as good for performance but NOT good for data security (if one drive fails the data on both is lost), so I make sure I do regular backups. Xbench (bench marking software) scored my RAID on the SATA card 94.73 compared with the normal IDE drive (PATA) at 50.57. Unfortunately, one cannot boot from this Sonnet card.
