You don't need a "Firewire" drive, just a firewire external enclosure. The drive inside of my firewire enclosure is a Maxtor 300Gb IDE/EIDE drive.<BR>

The enclosure that I have is a "Versa - Drive" and it has a small fan. I can leave this Firewire enclosure on all of the time, even on a very hot day and it is only slightly warm to the touch.<BR>

I would highly recommend that you putout the extra cash for a drive like mine as I know that you will be highly satisfied.<BR>
