It still sounds like something you could do *once* it's out of warranty. I wouldn't recommend it before that, at least not if you can afford the downtime to have it in the shop. My question is, is that the HD or CPU temp? And what was the temp initially? That seems more than a little high. One bit of advice, not to be alarmist, but make sure you have backups of your data.
