I don't see a problem, now.

I have been on this list for a week, and yours is the first message I have
seen. I was thinking, "perhaps it is dead."

My new G5DP 2.0 will be here soon, and of course it's a large step up for
me, too. Though I am happily running 10.3.9 on my G4 iBook, the G5 should be
my main machine for years to come, and will offer opportunities (esp. w/OS
10.4) well beyond those offered by the laptop "pet".

I ordered it "stock" except for the BT/Wireless Keyboard option. It will be
hooked up to an existing home Airport network totaling 9 B&W G3 towers, 1
iMac, 2 iBooks, 2 WinXP-PCs, and 1 Linux-PC -- linked to the 'Net via DSL.

All but 2 of the CPU's are currently running SETI Classic
<http://setiathome2.ssl.berkeley.edu/index.html>
(which the G5 will do as well), at least until BOINC is mandated, at which
time massive changes in the lineup will occur. Several of the B&W G3's are
about to go on sale on eBay in order to free up some shelf space for
household items (hard to believe, I know). The rest will be sold off when
SETI Classic disappears, as they are not effective running MacOSX/BOINC,
even with plenty of memory. They are just too slow given the MHz/shelf space
balance in my shop area. As it is, I think I'm buying enough kilowatts every
month to run CNN.

Stay up on the list, maybe everybody else was just waiting for you to break
the ice.

Jack
