You can use your old drive if you put it in an external enclosure. Typically these are firewire connected to the MacPro. Honestly, disk prices have dropped so dramatically that you would do better to purchase a SATA hard drive and install it in a spare bay in your computer. I have found (the hard way) that disk drive life is relatively short, so I plan on replacing my drives on a 4-5 year cycle maximum. It's better than losing your valuable photo collection. (Original is Serial ATA 3Gb/s) My old G4 Dual 1.25GHz, used a Maxtor 120GB ATA/133. Is it compatible to be used for Photo storage? I have a lot to relearn new Mac Pro & Leopard.
